About Us

We are one of Ayrshire's leading housing associations with over 1,500 houses. We are nationally recognised for the quality of our housing. We are proud to be tenant and community run.

We were formed in April 2003 when Carrick Housing Association and South Ayrshire Homes came together. Our governance structure is based on a partnership of our tenants, South Ayrshire Council and Ayrshire’s communities. Our tenants and communities constituencies have 5 places each on the Board. They are joined by 3 Councillors nominated by South Ayrshire Council.

Our day to day operations are handled by a committed staff team of 28 from our office in Ayr. We are committed to the development of all who work for us. You can find further details here.

We are a company limited by guarantee (no: 185652) and a Scottish charity (no: SC 027906).  Registered  as  a Social Landlord (no: 304), our  performance as a landlord is monitored  by the Scottish Housing Regulator.  Our engagement status with them is “low”.

We produce a comprehensive Company Profile for all who are interested in our work. You should find plenty of information about us on this website including all our key policies. Our Publications Framework conforms to guidance from the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations.

All our tenants are automatically members. We also welcome membership from anyone in the wider community who supports our work, find out more.
