We hope that you find our revamped website both interesting and helpful. There are a number of innovations, in particular our online application form and, of course, this blog. We have also upgraded our online mutual exchange register and added a blog feed. All of these features are probably firsts for a Scottish housing association. We have also carried over some cutting edge accessibility features from the old site – text only Betsie and Say-it!. The latter will read you the site’s text in a rather posh Edinburgh accent without the need for plug-in software!

Tell us what you think especially if you spot errors or have suggestions for further improvement.

Look out for the launch of Ayrshire Initiatives‘ much improved site over the next few weeks.

The site has been developed by Shoestring Design and is maintained in-house using WordPress. Alongside this development, we are now using the collaborative Basecamp to ensure fully inter-active communication amongst all the volunteer Board members and employees of the Ayrshire Housing group. We also intend to pilot Basecamp to further enhance collaboration in our procurement teams.

  1. Maybe you should think about STREET LIGHTS in North Shore Lane before revamping your website, We’ve had NONE since build, only temp ones. Fed up complaining about it now.

  2. Although I do think your new website is excellent and tells tenants and would be tenants all they would need to know, myself and neighbours have complained about our lighting outside Glenhead Place (top end)to be repaired on numerous occasions and we are getting no where.

  3. We sympathise and share your concerns over the issue of street lighting at your development. However it is a perennial problem we face in all our development work, utilities and the installation of services is the greatest hinderance to completion of all our new build units. We are pursuing specifically North Shore Lane, Troon and will be happy to discuss this with you directly.

    Project Manager

  4. Thanks for the kind words about the site. I’ve checked to make sure that the lighting repair at Glenhead Place has been instructed. If there are going to be any further delays, Murray will keep you posted.

  5. Thanks to Mr McLean the work has started to get the lights done at North Shore Lane, although we had another set back but hope to have a “wee bit o Blackpool” in the area by the end of March.
    Thanks Derek.

  6. I noticed in this months news letter that there was a garden competition. Unfortunately the residents of Douneburn, Girvan were left with a building site as a garden. Some of us find it difficult to cut the grass let alone enter this competition. Which is very unfair.

  7. Following our recent conversation I am pleased that you have spoken to the Maintenance Officer and the issues you have had with the garden will hopefully be addressed soon with the advice of our landscape contractors. Regards, Dawn Bigham, Housing Officer.
