September 16, 2009 | No comments

Today, Ayrshire Housing opened its latest development of 7 family homes in Girvan.

Paul Torrance and Pearl Boyd, respectively Ayrshire Housing’s chair and vice-chair, handed Stephen and Caroline Fox with the keys to their new house. It is one of seven new houses built by Maybole contractor J D Thomson for the association at Torcy Way, Girvan. Mr and Mrs Fox said that they are delighted to be moving into a new detached three bedroom house which meets the needs of their young family.

Paul Torrance said “I’d like to thank South Ayrshire Council for making this development possible through the sale of the site for £1 as part of their affordable housing policy. The Scottish Government then secured the project with a grant of £600,000 towards the build costs”.

The six 2 bedroom and one 3 bedroom houses were designed by Ayr based Lawrence McPherson Associates.
