March 3, 2007 | No comments

The Provost of South Ayrshire, Winnie Sloan (wearing her chain of office), officially opened this development on 2 March 2007. She was delighted to welcome Ms Lindsay Steel (in the yellow jacket) to her new home. Ms Steel currently lives nearby with her parents and will move into her own wheelchair house with professional support. Mr and Mrs Steel were delighted that Ayrshire Housing has contributed to protecting their daughter’s quality of life in the years to come.

Provost Sloan said “As both the local Councillor and an Ayrshire Housing Board member, I’m delighted to welcome Lindsay to her new home. I am also pleased that its design fits so well with the surrounding houses.”

The scheme was designed by Dr Roan Rutherford of Austin-Smith:Lord and built by Ashleigh (Scotland) Ltd. It was made possible by a generous grant from Communities Scotland
