Councillor Hugh Hunter, the Leader of South Ayrshire Council opened Ayrshire Housing latest development in Troon on 7 September 2007.
As he presented new tenant Sadie Murney (centre with her carer) with a bouquet, Councillor Hunter said “I am a great advocate of partnership working, and this development is a practical demonstration of what can be achieved when we work together. Ayrshire Housing and the Council have collaborated on many successful projects in the past and I am sure will do so again in the future.”
Ayrshire Housing is pleased to have worked closely with South Ayrshire Council in the letting of the houses. We have also worked closely with the social work department to ensure that the specific care needs of several of the tenants have been met.
The project cost just under £2.5 millions and was supported by a grant of £1.8 millions from the Scottish Government through Communities Scotland. The balance is funded by Ayrshire Housing through a loan from the Royal Bank of Scotland .
