Ayrshire’s Housing Associations are committed to getting the most from their £30 million plus investment in construction each year. Research suggests however that there is a lack of awareness amongst small and medium sized contractors, and suppliers as to how to access housing association contracts.

To address this, Skills Development Scotland (SDS) in association with most of Ayrshire’s Housing Associations are hosting a “meet the buyer” event.

This takes place on Wednesday 24 September in the Park Suite, Rugby Park, Kilmarnock.

Contractors and suppliers can expect to get business development tips from housing association officials, their existing contractors and business advisors. There will also be a session on how associations and contractors can work together to enhance local training opportunities for example through Ayrshire Initiatives’ Access Construction programme.

Whether a company is already working on construction related contracts with the housing association sector, or is seeking to get involved for the first time, attendance at this event will be of benefit. The volume of projects to be tendered will be outlined with information on how a business can bid for a share of this work.

There is no charge for the session, see the Meet the Buyer Invitation (pdf)..

Please let us know whether or not you would like to attend by contacting Cameron Clark at Skills Development Scotland via e-mail at Cameron.clark@scotent.co.uk or by phone on 01563 545117.

The participating housing associations are Atrium Homes, ANCHO, Ayrshire Housing, Irvine Housing Association, Shire Housing Association and West of Scotland Housing Association.

Ayrshire Housing is pleased to support this initiative.
