This year’s best gardens!

15th October 2010

Board member Margaret Imrie has announced the results of Ayrshire Housing’s ever popular annual best gardens competition.

Margaret said ”it’s a first for the competition to see the same garden pick up the best overall and the best new garden prizes. I was amazed at what Mr and Mrs Duncan have achieved in the nine months since they moved into their brand new home in Lochside, Ayr”.

Commendations went to sisters Mrs Boyd and Mrs McClymont who live next door to each other in Victory Crescent, Dailly.

In the best shared garden category, Margaret said “we were really impressed by the initiative of several tenants at the Citadel in Ayr who have turned a tidy but rather staid open space into a lovely shared garden for all their neighbours to enjoy”.

All the winning and commended gardeners are to receive an engraved bedding spade or trowel as a memento of their success.
