Ayrshire Housing has just donated £500 to the Ayr based homeless charity, Care and Share. The donation reflects “efficiency savings” in the production of our annual Christmas card which our tenants receive. Ayrshire Housing firmly believes that you can support charities at this time of year and still enjoy the simple pleasure generated by exchanging cards.
Care and Share is an organisation for people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. There is a weekly drop-in at the Riverside Church (next door to Job Centre Plus) on John Street, Ayr. This gives visitors a chance to enjoy a hot meal, make new friends and find out about local activities. Advice on benefits, housing, addictions and education is also made available.
Handing over the association’s cheque, Chair Paul Torrance said “I’m delighted that Ayrshire Housing has been able to make a modest contribution to the work of this much needed initiative.”
