Supporting poetry at Newton Primary

26th June 2017

Ayrshire Housing is pleased to support Newton Primary School’s Scottish poetry competition for a second year. The school is beside the association’s latest development at Cross Gait, Ayr which the pupils were able to visit during its building.

Director Jim Whiston presented the pupils – one from each year – with their awards at the annual school prize giving today. This was held in the nearby Newton Wallacetown Church so as to be able to accommodate the whole school, and the pupils’ parents and friends.

Jim Whiston said “support for this completion is now a permanent part of our engagement with local schools. Work with other schools over the years has included gardening competitions, sponsorship, and painting and photography projects”.

Congratulations to the winners – Louissa Robertson, Mackenzie Cameron, Martin Calder, (Back row), Sally Hutchison, Morgan McNeillie, Analise Melvin and Kai McLean (front row).
