More than 140 delegates attended the ‘Putting People First: Health and Home’ conference at the Seamill Hydro Hotel today.
This is the fourth public housing conference organised by Eydent – the alliance of Ayrshire housing associations. It brings together volunteers, tenants and staff from Ayrshire’s leading housing associations. They are joined by a growing number of delegates from the Ayrshire Councils and housing associations across central Scotland.
High-quality keynote speakers at the conference included public health medicine specialist Dr Neil Hamlet; author, musician and social commentator Darren McGarvey and Josh Littlejohn MBE, the founder of Social Bite.
The conference also included well received workshops with topics ranging from financial inclusion to fuel poverty and health.
This year Shire Housing Association took the lead in organising the conference. Its Director Jim Munro said: “At the heart of Eydent is joint working, sharing information, best practice, helping to improve knowledge and skills. Eydent’s fourth conference with its high-quality key-note speakers and workshops is a great example of collaborative working. I also want to thank the team at SHARE for assisting us in organising this excellent conference.”
