The housing association has lodged a planning application for 22 houses at Queen’s Terrace on the edge of Maybole. Comments can be made on the application at https://tinyurl.com/gardenroseplanning.
The scheme has been designed by Do-Architecture to reflect the ambitions of the association’s new Design Guide for energy efficient and flexible housing. There will 18 two and three bedroom houses, and 4 one bedroom flats. Each flat includes an additional small room which can be used either as a home office or a child’s bedroom.
The other members of the design team are McColm Civil and Structural Engineers and Thomson Cost Consultants
Jim Whiston, the association’s Director says “the association’s first new build project was in Maybole over 25 years ago and the town has always been a focus for our work. Hopefully, this latest development will be as well received as the nearby Burns Wynd one which received a Saltire Housing Design award in 2014. We are grateful for the continued support of South Ayrshire Council with whom we have liaised on the housing mix”.
