About Us

We were formed in April 2003 when Carrick Housing Association and South Ayrshire Homes came together. Our governance structure is based on a partnership between our tenants and Ayrshire’s communities. Our tenants and communities constituencies have 6 places each on the Board. We have a close working relationship with South Ayrshire Council on whose initiative our predecessor South Ayrshire Homes was formed in 1998.

Our day to day operations are handled by a committed staff team of 31 from our office in Ayr. We are committed to the development of all who work for us. You can find details  about working with us here.

We aim to make an impact on Ayrshire’s economy through our work. Find out about our approach to procurement and our significant contracts. We are committed to Fair Work First principles.

We are a company limited by guarantee (no: 185652) and a Scottish charity (no: SC 027906).  Registered  as  a Social Landlord (no: 304), our  performance as a landlord is monitored  by the Scottish Housing Regulator.   See what  they think of us in their Engagement Plan and Landlord Report.  You can also see all the information they hold about us here. Each year we produce a Performance Report and  Assurance Statement for our tenants and other service users. You can see more about the Regulator’s support for tenants and other service users here.

We produce a comprehensive Company Profile for all who are interested in our work. You should also find plenty of information about us on this website including all our key policies. Our Guide to Information meets the requirements of the Scottish Information Commissioner.

All our tenants are automatically members. We also welcome membership from anyone in the wider community who supports our work, find out more.
