Ayrshire Housing has always tried to go beyond the “bricks and mortar”. From the very beginning, we have supported construction training, innovative tenancy sustainment and a wide range of community projects.
Over the four years of the Scottish Government’s People and Communities fund, we received year on year funding for Bridging the Gap. This employment training project with Aspire to Access gave over 150 people from our neighbourhoods access to more specialised training. We are always looking to develop new partnerships with fellow voluntary and community organisations.
More recently, we received almost £150,000 from the Scottish Government as a “community anchor”. This has allowed us to support the work of an number of local organisations as they responded to the social pressures created by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Our Building Community Capacity Fund helps smaller groups make a bigger impact in their communities or to develop new initiatives. We are interested in exploring opportunities to provide practical assistance alongside financial support.
We especially welcome applications which directly involve our tenants, or would at least be of general benefit to tenants or housing applicants. The fund builds on our longstanding support for community activities such as galas, and gardening and sports clubs.
